SOMA Book Drive!

SOMA , in partnership with Better World Books, is having a book drive.  Better World Books is committed to providing funds and books to sub-Saharan Africa, and to date has collected over 28 million books during book drives like ours.  Not only does this provide more with the opportunity to read, these book drives have diverted more than 25 million  pounds of books from landfills.

There is no need to buy anything, just bring in those textbooks and books that you no longer use.  Clear out some space on your shelf.  This drive will continue until January, so be sure and bring back books from home!  Just drop the books in one of the drop boxes around school.

For more  information you can visit www.betterworldbooks.com.  Below are what is and isn’t acceptable for donation.

The A-list (Please put these books in one of the drop boxes)

  • College Textbooks and Study Guides (clean and legible condition) with copyright dates from the past 10 years
  • Workbooks (with no missing pages)
  • Basically any book used in a college classroom (highlighting or writing in books is fine so long as the text isn’t obscured)

  • Hardcover Fiction/Nonfiction
  • Paperbacks (must be in like-new condition with copyright 1980 or newer)
