Everyone knows that half of the struggle of the first year of medical school is adjusting to a new lifestyle and for many, a completely new (and very rural!) area and culture. Student doctor Brewer has stepped up and showed his accommodating and compassionate side to his fellow classmates by allowing not 1, but 2 of his colleagues to reside in his home alongside his family. Physicians hold the privileged responsibility of helping those in need and this gesture by Joseph exemplifies this attitude. We, as osteopathic medical students of LMU-DCOM believe there is a need to support and cultivate the high ethical standards of honor associated with the medical community.  Integrity, accountability, trust and mutual respect (for patients, faculty, staff, self) are essential to the medical profession and we will actively support and work to achieve these ideals through our professional career.  The environment that we create is critical to this endeavor. 

The purpose of the HCEC is to address, review, and recommend action to be taken on any inappropriate behavior by individuals, groups, or organizations while acting as members of LMU-DCOM.
