Why can’t I register?
This site is intended for a couple categories of people. First and foremost it is meant as an information share for DCOM students. Secondly, it is meant to show prospective students or interested parties aspects of student life. Due to the nature of this, we have only allowed DCOM students to register, in an effort to keep information confidential such as class notes, etc and to keep the blog spam free.
To register, click on “Register” on the left sidebar.When inputting your username, please use the format Firstname.Lastname, and your school issued @lmunet.edu email address.You will receive a random password in your email shortly after signing up.
How do I change my password?
Log in with that issued password on the left sidebar.Since the issued password is quite hard to remember (and you’ll have enough to remember, trust me) you can click on “Profile” on the left sidebar, scroll to the bottom of the page, and update your password.
Why do I see a Not Found page?
Only registered users (DCOM students) will be able to access this information for reasons stated above. As an unregistered user you can view several of the pages as well as the General category, where you will see social events, but the OMS-# categories will not be viewable.
How do I post?
Next, you’ll want to learn how to post up information.The information posted can be anything related to school.This includes helpful pneumonic or website links, sheets that you have made, or a club announcement directed at the entire school.This EXCLUDES any official LMU-DCOM powerpoints or lecture recordings.So, to post, click on “Add New Post” in the left sidebar.Enter your post title and post content.To insert a picture, click on picture next to “Upload/Insert”.To add documents, click on media next to “Upload/Insert”.Upload the attachment, click “File URL” then click “Insert into Post”.After finishing your post, it is important that you pick the category that your post will go into.The “Frontpage” category should be reserved for school wide near future events.Finally you must hit the green/blue “Publish” button in the upper right of the page.
How can I edit my posts?
You can edit your posts by going into the “Edit My Post” on the left hand side. Find your post. Click edit and make your necessary changes.
Rules of the Website
- Your username should be your own personal name, either in the form of Firstname.Lastname, Firstname Lastname, or any suitable combination of your first and last name.
- Students are expected to publish information relevant to school only. The information posted should not be anything that is copyrighted, any powerpoints or notes distributed directly from LMU-DCOM professors, any video of lecture or recording of lecture, or anything else that might get SGA in trouble. Please use your best judgment.
- All students may post in any category EXCEPT the Frontpage category. The Frontpage category will be restricted to club officers, class officers, and SGA officers (or if you have an important announcment). This category will be used to post “Daily Announcements” on the Frontpage of DCOMDO.com. In this regard, the frontpage category should be used to convey information that is meant for the entire LMU-DCOM student population. If you are just posting in general, please find the specific category that your post will fit into and checkmark that box only.
- Any questionable situations concerning student actions on this blog will be reviewed by SGA. Of course we know that everyone will display professionalism and obey the student honor code!
