There is no need to buy anything, just bring in those textbooks and books that you no longer use.  Clear out some space on your shelf.  This drive will continue until January, so be sure and bring back books from home!  Just drop the books in one of the drop boxes around school.

The A-list (Please put these books in one of the drop boxes)

• College Textbooks and Study Guides (clean and legible condition) with copyright dates from the past 10 years
• Workbooks (with no missing pages)
• Basically any book used in a college classroom (highlighting or writing in books is fine so long as the text isn’t obscured)
• Accompanying CDs

Also,  look for these types of books in clean, legible condition:

• Hardcover Fiction/Nonfiction
• Paperbacks (must be in like-new condition with copyright 1980 or newer)
• Former Library Books
• Travel Books (with copyright dates from the past 5 years)

The Expulsion List  (Please do NOT drop off books in any of the following conditions)

• Dirty
• Moldy
• Water Damaged
• Damaged Binding or Pages
• Missing Covers or Pages
• Cut Out Library Treatments

SNMA is hosting the INTERNATIONAL DINNER on December 7, 2009!! Come enjoy/share the foods from around the world. You can buy your tickets in advance for $5.00 (50% off from last year – wowzers) – they will also be sold at the dinner. If you contribute a dish then it’s FREE!! Tickets go on SALE starting TODAY in front of the auditoriums during lunch. This was a great success last year, so let’s kick it up a notch (Emeril) and have TWO rows of international dishes this time. YUM-MO (Rachael Ray)!!

Wrapping/Packaging Party: Fri, Nov 13th4pm (including hot chocolate, hot cider, candy canes and christmas music!) (2nd floor lounge)

What: We are filling empty shoeboxes with donated gifts, wrapping the shoeboxes, and then sending them across the globe to less fortunate communities. Donation boxes are located on the 2nd floor under the heart painting. We need YOU(DO, PA, & nursing students, faculty and staff) to drop off your donations (gifts for boys and girls aged 0-14, shoeboxes, wrapping paper, tape) to the boxes located on the 2nd floor lounge by Wed, Nov 11th, then come help us pack and wrap the shoeboxes on Friday, Nov 13th at 4pm. (see next page for donation ideas) If possible, bring a $7.00 donation or more on Nov. 13th to help pay the cost of shipping each shoebox or bring monetary donations to Norma Wells office on the 4th floor.

Gift Ideas

TOYS small cars, balls, dolls, stuffed animals, kazoos, harmonicas, yo-yos, jump ropes, small Etch A Sketch®, toys that light up or make noise (with extra batteries), Slinky®, etc.
SCHOOL SUPPLIES pens, pencils and sharpener, crayons or markers, stamps and ink pad sets, writing pads or paper, solar calculators, coloring and picture books, etc.
HYGIENE ITEMS toothbrush, toothpaste, mild bar soap (in a plastic bag), comb, washcloth, etc.
OTHER Hard candy and lollipops (please double bag all candy), mints, gum, T-shirts, socks, ball caps; sunglasses, hair clips, toy jewelry, watches, flashlights (with extra batteries)
A PERSONAL NOTE In a separate envelope, you may enclose a note to the child and a photo of yourself or your family. (If you include your name and address, the child may write back.)
DO NOT INCLUDE: Used or damaged items; war-related items such as toy guns, knives or military figures; chocolate or food; out-of-date candy; liquids or lotions; medications or vitamins; breakable items such as snowglobes or glass containers; aerosol cans
